A time-honored phrase amongst many dyers I’ve encountered on line is “you can’t get a good black in a washing machine.” I was not deterred. I added boiling water to my hot-as-possible wash load. I predissolved a great mass of black acid dye. I increased the acid a bit as well. I got…

And also my shibori resists were nowhere near tight enough, so my patterns are slight to non-existent. Boo.

Well, at least I’m no longer stuck with the tomato red veil I’ve been trying to sell for 3 years. 😀
